UXO Technician 1 Training Program
The University of Tennessee and RELYANT have partnered together to develop the most comprehensive Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) training program available. Students graduate with a UXO Technician I certification, a Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) certification, and heavy machinery certification. Graduates of the UT/Relyant UXO training meet all Department of Defense requirements to work in the UXO industry and receive an International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) certification required to perform work at OCONUS locations.
Why Choose the UT/RELYANT UXO Technician 1 Training Program?
UXO Technician 1 Training Program is led by EOD instructors who have comprehensive experience leading munitions response actions in some of the most dangerous countries in the world. The course is divided into 25 modules, which include, but are not limited to, HAZWOPER certification, Environmental Law (federal and state overview), Range Clearance Activities, Chemical Munitions Identification, Munitions Response Planning, Personal Protective Equipment, Munitions Demilitarization Procedures, and the Storage, Handling, and Transportation of Explosives. Each course is completed in approximately seven weeks with at least 40 hours of training each week. Our training program, which is approved for the use of veterans’ education benefits, also includes:
- The opportunity to learn from top-tier UT professors in the areas of mathematics, engineering, and science.
- Participation in hands-on field and safety training led by experienced, EOD qualified Relyant instructors.
- Teachers that have “real world” experience in the Mine Action industry and are dedicated to helping students learn the techniques and strategies to succeed in UXO operations in accordance with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and
