RELYANT developed a domestic Senegalese capability by providing maritime electrician training for Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) platforms. This improved the overall quality of training to ensure Senegalese personnel can competently address the range of maritime threats the country faces, including IUU fishing, armed robbery at sea, piracy, terrorism, and oil bunkering. RELYANT also conducted an OPV assessment, developed certifications, and developed maritime electricians’ curriculum in concert with Senegalese and US stakeholders. Scope of work also included training of the Senegalese Navy instructors who became certified and in turn, able to provide contractor-designed entry-level, and advanced level training curriculum for additional OPV electricians.
